I don't know where you are, but I'm sure it isn't boring Ziggy

Today's tweet woke me up.
It stated:

"If you're ever sad, just remember the world is 4.543  billion years old and you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie."

As on his birthday three days ago the Blackstar album came out by now it became clear that this was his parting gift to us and a carefully planned finale.

I had been listening to this music all day and reflecting on Bowie's unquenchable thirst to find new modes of expression. Which is no mean feat given the enormous amount of ground he covered during his life, but still he always found a way to stay one step ahead of what everyone else wanted him to do. You could never predict where he would go next. I loved that about him. He thrived on this pioneering forward motion, and was one of the very few artists of any discipline who continued to stay vital and produce such seminal works across six decades! So, while this is a very sad day, surely his spirit, his life and work are something to be celebrated.

You will be missed as you were/are/will always be incomparable!

PS I know I haven't written a blog post in a while, but you sure are worth it.
